Singita Sweni - The Details
Singita Sweni is found in a private concession on the far eastern reaches of the Kruger National Park, not too far from South Africa’s border with Mozambique. Situated along 15 000 hectares (33 000 acres) in the south eastern part of the Kruger National Park, the Singita Ebony concession is best accessed is by air with concession being 90 minutes flight from Johannesburg. The concession is home to Singita Sweni and Singita Lebombo and has its own private airstrip, serviced by scheduled carriers as well as private charters.
The Singita concession is found in the diverse habitat in the shadow of the Lebombo Mountain range. The rocky outcrops provide a unique habitat for a range of diverse animal species. This concession is home to the ‘big five’ as well as cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, hippo, wildebeest, kudu, crocodile and many other mammal, reptile and bird species.
Singita Swent sits low on the Sweni River, with the small lodge built on stilts with decks of dark timber, giving it a grounded and earthy feel. Singita Sweni consists of 7 riverside suites complete with luxurious bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, an expansive living area, mini bar and fridge, room safe and private wooden leisure decks.All suites are air-conditioned and also offer the option of ceiling fans. Rooms have direct dial telephones.
The main lodge exudes glamour and subtle sophistication, it boasts lounge and timber deck dining areas with views of the bush. There is also a bar area, a lounge area (complete with fireplace), a swimming pool and a well stocked wine cellar.
The main activities at Singita Sweni are game drives at day and night (into the evening) whilst bush walks are also a favourite morning activity of ours!
