Singita Lebombo - The Details
Singita Lebombo is found in a private concession on the far eastern reaches of the Kruger National Park, not too far from South Africa’s border with Mozambique.
Situated along 15 000 hectares (33 000 acres) in the south eastern part of the Kruger National Park, the Singita Lebombo concession is best accessed is by air with the concession being a 90 minute flight from Johannesburg. The concession is home to Singita Lebombo and Singita Sweni and has its own private airstrip, serviced by scheduled carriers as well as private charters.
The Singita concession is found in the diverse habitat in the shadow of the Lebombo Mountain range. The rocky outcrops provide a unique habitat for a range of diverse animal species. This concession is home to the ‘big five’ as well as cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, hippo, wildebeest, kudu, crocodile and many other mammal, reptile and bird species.
Singita Lebombo has been designed around the theme of a luxury eagle’s nest, allowing for elevated views over the Kruger National Park. Singita Lebombo has 15 super luxurious rooms, called Cliffside double suites, and is the largest of all of the Singita properties. All the suites have their own en-suite bathroom and shower, outside shower, mini bar and fridge, room safe, air-conditioning, overhead fans, direct dial telephones and game viewing deck making it popular for
African honeymoons.
The main lodge boasts an open-plan lounge area complete with a library, multimedia room, roof terrace and interactive kitchen.
Dining areas overlook the expanse of the Lebombo concession and there is a traditional boma for outside meals under the stars.
The swimming pool and gym provide extra areas to exercise whilst the spa allows those wishing to be pampered, the perfect opportunity to unwind during the afternoon in a tranquil and peaceful setting. The lodge shop is also well stocked with a range of African artefacts and curios. which make for perfect momentos from the trip, or gifts for those unfortunate enough not to have travelled.
The main activities at Singita Lebombo are game drives at day and night (into the evening) and bush walks, however Singita go over and above by providing star gazing and photographic selecting/editing sessions with your guide.
