Tucked secretively in the confluence of the Sand and Mabrak Rivers, Dulini Leadwood joins the other two Dulini properties in the West of
Sabi Sands which is an area of wildlife abundance.
With beautiful views from every angle of the lodge, guests can relax in the main area and can make use of the spa, pool and gym in an idyllic setting. The interior is darker and provides a very sophisticated feel to a contemporary and modern lodge, without losing the essence of Africa.
Leadwood's biggest pull is that there are only four luxury suites meaning guests are guaranteed a private and intimate stay. With a further age restriction of no children under the age of twelve being allowed, this makes Leadwood the perfect destination for honeymooners and couples.
Its smaller size also lends itself as being the perfect desintation for larger families for want an exclusive and luxurious experience. Each suite is spaced apart from each other to guarantee maximum privacy and solitude. Each suite is also fitted with its own private deck and private plunge pool as well as a mini-bar, lounge and air-conditioning.
Just like
Dulini Lodge and
Dulini River Lodge, Leadwood excels in its value for money. Whilst the accommodation is extremely luxurious and the guiding is fantastic, Leadwood's intimacy and privacy comes at no extra cost. The cuisine served here is also superb, as is every setting in which you may dine. Whether it's the boma, in-door or out-door dining will provide a culinary experience that will be hard to forget.
The best time to visit for game viewing is during the dry season (from July through to October) when the foliage is at its lowest and limited water supplies result in animals congregating in larger numbers. During this time, predator prey interaction is at its most viewable. During the summer months however, the lush green foliage presents the perfect photo opportunities and migratory birds like the woodlands kingfishers and the amur falcon offer bird watchers a plethora of bird life to marvel at.
Combining a trip to the Sabi Sands with a few nights in Cape Town is the perfect way to spend a week to ten days in South Africa. Due to South Africa's great transport links, getting from your safari to Cape Town is very easy and can be done in a matter of hours.
Cape Town is a vibrant and energetic city full of culture and natural wonders. From the heights of Table Mountain to the marine wildlife and the plethora of bars, restaurants and shops, there is something for everyone and we recommend a minimum of three nights is needed here to make the most of everything on offer.
If you have the time, combining Dulini with another safari destination after a short break in Cape Town would make a great itinerary. Other game reserves like
Tswalu Kalahari and
Phinda's Vlei Lodge would compliment a stay at Dulini beautifully. The variation of habitats and game viewing would make the perfect all-round safari experience.
