Dulini Lodge - The Details
Spread under a leafy canopy of ebony trees, Dulini Lodge’s six stone cottages grace the banks of the Mabrak River. The suites host plunge pools, shady decks and classic interiors that celebrate the signature style of the reserve whilst also providing spectacular views of the riverbed. From the privacy of their own plunge pools, guests can enjoy watching game just a few metres away.
The guest sitting area is an elegant space filled with sofas and African sculptures. A communal pool, a spa and a library allow guests to thoroughly enjoy time in between game drives. Dining takes place under an ancient jackalberry tree where chefs serve Pan African meals, or steal away for a romantic candlelit dinner in the well-stocked wine cellar. Communal bush breakfasts or dinners are a treat that many guests love and nothing compares to dining under the stars and exchanging stories with guides and other guests. With no children under eight years old allowed, Dulini serves as the perfect
safari for couples in search of that extra special get away that is off the beaten track.
With fantastic guides and trackers, game drives at Dulini are always a pleasure. Whether you're exploring the grassy plains in the South of the reserve or meandering alongside one of the snaking rivers, Dulini's concentration of Big 5 is not beaten in many other destinations. Wild dog and cheetah are also regularly seen in the area and with over four-hundred bird species recorded in the area, there is certainly something for everyone.
Although Dulini is not the cheapest option in the
Sabi Sands, it is certainly one of the best for value for money. The standard of accommodation, service, food and game viewing is amongst the highest in South Africa, and all for a fantastic price. Combine this with their pay for five and get a sixth night free then this value for money is very hard to beat.
For those budding photographers who forgot to pack an essential piece of kit or are wanting to try out a new lens or body, Dulini offers a photographic rental service which allows guests to rent, for a fee per day, a lens, body, or accessory to help with their photography. The guides here are also very knowledgeable in how to get the best photos and the most out of a camera.
Combining a trip to the Sabi Sands with a few nights in Cape Town is the perfect way to spend a week to ten days in South Africa. Due to South Africa's great transport links, getting from your safari to Cape Town is very easy and can be done in a matter of hours.
Cape Town is a vibrant and energetic city full of culture and natural wonders. From the heights of Table Mountain to the marine wildlife and the plethora of bars, restaurants and shops, there is something for everyone and we recommend a minimum of three nights is needed here to make the most of everything on offer.
