Best Luxury Safari Lodges
With plenty of options to choose from, selecting your safari accommodation isn't easy. Different lodges can offer different experiences depending on what you are after from your holiday. Some lodges will only have small guest occupancy and offer intimate experiences, whereas other camps will cater for larger groups.
Camps can also be mobile meaning that they are not permanent structures and they will relocate depending on the season and where the animals are most likely to be. Due to the accommodation manoeuvring regularly, these camps are normally made up from a number of luxury tents. These tents however, dispel all traditional myths of what may come to mind if you think of camping. Their furnishings are luxurious and all your needs will be met. Their placement is also extra-close to the action and will certainly make you feel more at one with nature. If you have the opportunity to stay in these mobile camps, do it.
Best Beach Hotels
Just like the safari camps, there are many varying options when it comes to accommodation by the beach. Generally the more you pay, the more intimate and luxurious your accommodation will be, however we have options that can cater for all budgets. The beach hotels we offer can either be the base for a perfect romantic getaway or for an ideal adventure and activity filled holiday.
Best Safari Lodges
It is very hard to rank Africa lodges with one simple measure! Our ranking is subjective and tries to reflect value for money as well as overall quality. Therefore we may award just three stars to certain 'five star' lodges in the hotel, or five stars to some superb, unashamed 'three star' hotels that are great value for money.

Located in the famous Sabi Sands game reserve, Londolozi Granite Camp is one of the finest game viewing camps throughout South Africa. Famous for the very good leopard viewing at all of the Londolozi properties, Granite is Londolozi’s exclusive and private camp property and one of the Sabi sands most luxurious properties. Our View
Londolozi’s Pioneer Camp is located in the Londolozi Reserve in the heart of the Sabi Sands. It helps to form part of the Greater Kruger which is located to the West of the Kruger National Park. Pioneer Camp was recently redesigned and now reflects Londolozi's early history of a bygone era. It is the most secluded of Londolozi's camp and although it is one of Londolozi's more pricey camps, the exclusivity and privacy offered certainly makes it worth it.- T Lombard

Londolozi’s lovely Varty Camp is the original camp at Londolozi, dating back to more than ninety years ago. Although newly refurbished, the chalets are slightly on the small side but offer inter-leading rooms, spectacular river views and private plunge pools. All rooms have private swimming pools framed by timber decks that overlook the lush riverine bush. The living spaces are raised off the ground and shaded under a cathedral of trees. Our View
Luangwa River Camp is located in a really beautiful setting on the main river and accesses the park from a different point to the main gate. It has had a face lift since Robin Pope Safaris took it over, they've done a great job and run a good ship. It just doesn't have that 'wow' factor we look for - it's awkward to get to, which arguably gives it that remote feeling, but then the game driving area is mainly Mfuwe and therefore the busy part of the park. There are more convenient options than this for exploring the main area of the Luangwa. Our View
In the office here we have previously put Luangwa Safari House forward for the Good Safari Guide awards for 'best private home in Africa'. Needless to say, we think it is exceptional! With all the luxuries you could ever need, and a fine balance with the surrounding environment, we think Luangwa Safari House is architect Neil Rocher's finest piece of work. The area and location is stunning; without doubt the best place in the valley for groups who don't want the bush camp approach to safari.- K. Johnstone

Machaba Camp knows how to safari. It brilliantly combines traditional 1950s safari style with a contemporary perks, and sits in one of the Okavango’s best wildlife destinations in the Khwai concession. It’s a brilliant choice for those who want an authentic safari experience with the old school romance that comes with – but without going back to basics (and not forking out an arm and a leg either).- T.
