Londolozi Granite Sabi Sands - The Details
Very bold, inspiring materials mirror the extrusion of granite rocks that flank the camp while conveying the raw essence of Africa. It really does blend in with it's natural surroundings incredibly well and makes for an exceptional place to base yourself for a really luxurious safari.
A palette of silver, charcoal and elephant grey in a range of sumptuous materials creates an elegant and contemporary setting in each of the expansive suites. Upon entering a Granite Suite, you are greeted by a beautiful lounge area situated in front of a large expanse of glass with specactular views out onto the Sand River. This creates the illusion of having your very own 'bush tv' where real life National Geographic takes place.
Each of the large and luxurious suites has a private, heated swimming pool, lavishly decorated interiors and an open air bath. The fully-stocked mini-bar and air-conditioning all contribute to catering for your every safari need.
There are only three private Granite Suites and they can either be booked individually or as a private camp for six guests. This makes it ideal for honeymooning couples or small family groups celebrating special occasions. The Private Granite Suites do not accommodate children under the age of 16 which help to maintain a sophisticated and calm atmosphere to the camp.
One downide for honeymooners looking for exclusivity and privacy would be that the facilities like the spa, gym and photographic suite are based by
Tree Camp and can be used by all other guests from the Londolozi camps
Varty,
Pioneer, and
Founders.
Game drives take place in the heart of the
Sabi Sands , where Londolozi have their own exclusive traverse with some of the highest densitites of the Big 5 in the
Greater Kruger . Londolozi is renowned for its exceptional leopard sightings and without other lodges traversing the same area, sightings are intimate and special.
Combining a stay at Londolozi with a visit to
Tswalu in the Kalahari is a great combination for those seeking two different and exceptional safari experiences. The variety of wildlife and the diversity in habitat make them the perfect combination and with South Africa's very good transport links, getting from one to the other isn't too difficult.
After your safari (or in between your two safaris) a trip to
Cape Town cannot be missed. This vibrant city if full of energy and natural wonders. From the V&A Waterfront which is full of shops, bars and restaurants to Table Mountain and the penguins of Boulder's Beach, there is something for everyone here. With so much on offer, we recommend at least three nights in Cape Town to give you enough time to make the most everything on offer.
The Cape Grace and Cape Cadogan are our favourite hotels here, yet there are so many other options. To find out exactly what options would best suit you for your trip, make sure you contact one of our Africa experts who would be more than happy to talk you through the different possibilities for you.
