Phinda Rock - The Details
Rock Lodge, as the name suggests, is set into the rocks on the side of a mountain. It is a beautiful and rustic, almost Flinstone like, lodge that offers incredible views into the valley below.
The lodge is situated in the Southern section of the reserve and looks over a stunning lush hillside where a variety of animals can often be seen and enjoyed from the comfort of the lodge.
There are six luxuriously rustic rooms at this lodge, all with their own plunge pools and private deck. Imagine reclining in your own pool with stunning views, the African wildlife casually strolling past and the memories of a fantastic day of safari.

The main lodge has a homely yet exclusive feel to it and during the winter months a roaring fire accompanies those visiting the bar or enjoying some of Africa's finest cuisine. A sophisticated and calm ambience is maintained throughout the lodge and the age restriction of no children under twelve years of age makes this the perfect destination for couples and honeymooners.
Game drives are generally conducted in the South of the reserve where great populations of lion, leopard and rhino are viewed on a regular basis. With &Beyond's high standard of guiding, you can be sure that your guide and tracker will be very well informed about the fauna, flora and the wonderful conservation work that &Beyond do.
What sets Phinda apart from other reserves however is their willingness to get guests involved in contributing to conservation. A number of different conservation experiences including chipping rhino, collaring elephant and tracking pangolin are available for guests to take part in. These extra activities do come at an extra cost, but they are certainly worth it. These activities must be pre-booked as it depends on the availability of a private vehicle and vet so please enquire with us beforehand if this is something you would be interested in.
