Mokete Camp - The Details
Mokete is located South of Chobe National Park, East of the Moremi in a private concession of gargantuan size. Here you can enjoy both day and night game drives as well as walking safaris.
Comprising of nine tented suites, the camp offers every amenity one could wish for, without overwhelming guests with opulence and lavishness – a breath of fresh air in the safari world that is becoming ever more geared towards over the top luxury. With canvas rooves that slide away at your will, star-gazing has never been easier, or more comfortable.
Intimate moments is what Mokete strives for. Whether that’s in the unfailing warm and generous service and hospitality that is a signature of Wilderness properties, or the up-close encounters with wildlife, visiting this area of Botswana will leave you spell-bound.
The Mababe marshland is the only water source for miles around during the dry season which sees huge herds of elephants and buffalo congregate in the area. Think of a typical Chobe floodplain scene, but without all the vehicles and other tourists, then this is what you can enjoy at Mababe plus the more prominent presence of predators such as lion and cheetah.
Personally, if you’re looking for another destination to combine with the Okavango Delta from July onwards, it would be a hard choice not to recommend Mokete as the place to go!
