Okonjima Plains Camp - The Details
Made up of thirty rooms(!) this large sized Camp feels more like a little resort than a safari lodge, accommodating over sixty guests at one time when at full capacity. The rooms of choice are the Large View Rooms, Classic View Rooms and Garden Rooms.
The rooms are all large and spacious, and have large windows that allow guests to look out onto the wilderness beyond. With en-suites, outdoor lounge areas guests can enjoy a slice of silence away from the main area where there’s no escaping the size of the property.
Everything is done on a large scale here, be it the buffet breakfasts in the canteen-esque dining area, loungers around the swimming pool or the fire pit which often sees twenty-plus people sit around it in the evening. For an intimate and romantic experience, Plains Camp does not provide this, but is great for families.
Just like Bush Camp, the guides are great and so are the activities, no matter which one guests choose to participate in. Guests can enjoy contributing to conservation through the variety of activities and learn how vital the work at Okonjima is.
