Our View
Anabezi luxury tented camp is the newest property in the Lower Zambezi. Built on the old site of the Mushika Camp and later on Ana Tree Lodge, which were both great camps due to the incredible location, but they never hit the mark due to the competition in the park.
Anabezi - The Details
Now with some great investment and a complete rebuild, Anabezi is one of the most luxurious lodges in the park and located in the remotest area around. If you are looking to spoil yourself at the end of a Zambian safari, then Anabezi is a great option with spacious luxury tents each with private plunge pools, a wide variety of activities available and some excellent guiding.
Located at the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park and built on the site of an old pioneer camp close to the old Presidents retreat, Anabezi is a luxury tented camp.
The name Anabezi is derived from the many Ana trees or Winter Thorns (Faidherbia albida) surrounding the camp, and the camp's situation on the banks of the Zambezi River. A wide variety of game is drawn to the area year-round to feed on the yellow corn pods dropped by the Ana trees, and to graze along the banks of the Zambezi. Animals wander freely around and through the camp, providing outstanding game watching and photographic opportunities.
Twelve spacious (approx 1000 sq ft!) luxury tents, each on a raised wooden deck, are set out along a ridge providing magnificent views of the Zambezi River and the Mushika River flood plain. Each luxury tent offers its own private plunge pool as well as indoor and outdoor bathrooms.
A wide variety of activities are on offer, including game drives, night drives, walking safaris, canoeing, boating and fishing, all with knowledgeable and experienced guides. With approximately 500 species of birds in the park, this area is also fantastic for birdwatchers. Wildlife viewing here is best from April to November. Accessible only by light aircraft, via Lusaka or Livingstone for international visitors, Anabezi is authentically remote and rustic.
