Flame Tree Village - The Details
This is certainly not a luxury option, but it is a clean and confortable lodge, half the price of anything else in Kigali. If you are on a budget or want to save money to spend elsewhere then this is perfect for a quick Kigali stop. This is an option for those who are doing their gorilla trek bucket list & just want a place to lay their head after their international flight.
The rooms are basic, but all are en-suite with shower and are clean. The food here, as at their sister hotel Mountain Gorilla View Lodge in Volcanoes National Park, is surprisingly good with local and international options.
Usually just used for an overnight stop, but if you do have a little bit of time here than it is worth visiting the genocide museum for an eye-opening insight into Rwanda's recent past, as well as taking a walk around the city.
The standard hotel we recommend is the Serena though if your budget is tight Flame Tree is an acceptable alternative
