Richard's Camp - The Details
Richard’s Camp is owned and operated by Richard Roberts and Liz Fusco. Their son Willoughby was born in 2006 and is growing up in the Mara. Richard was raised in the Masai Mara from the age of 3, and his parents, Willy and Sue were instrumental in bringing together the Masai communities that form the wildlife conservation association that exists in this area today. Richard’s camp’s first rate Masai and Samburu guides have an abundant and intimate knowledge of the Masai Mara, it’s wildlife and it’s people.
Their area of the Masai Mara is owned and managed by the Masai people themselves under the name of The Ol Choro Oirouwa Wildlife Management and Conservation Association. A portion of every ‘client per night’ fee is put back into the community and local projects. Richard and his family continue to be very active in on-going Mara conservation projects as well as spear heading initiatives in other parts of Kenya.
