Our View
The Livingstone area is tough one when it comes to finding value for money and Waterberry has nailed it. Most of the lodges located along the river are rather highly priced. Waterberry is very affordable and great value for money, it is located a far distance from the town, but this doesn't affect the experience. For once, a cheap lodge that offers a top end product!
Waterberry Lodge - The Details
Waterberry Lodge is located 22 km out of Livingstone, about 40 minutes drive, and tucked nicely away down on the banks of the Zambezi River. Its proximity to Livingstone allows great access to Victoria Falls and other activities when you want it whilst remaining remote.
The main area of the lodge is subtle and charming, regardless of it being in two levels. The height allows for spectacular views our over the Zambezi and during the summer months it catches a lovely evening breeze. The large thatched stone building bodes well for a great private dining experience and the food here is delightful. It’s nothing over the top but good and hearty with a flip flops and t-shirt-like atmosphere at meals.
There are various room types with double cottages, suites and family rooms. It caters for everyone. The rooms are stone cottages with thatched roofs, lovely and spacious and well sized beds. Each room is positioned facing the river with ample space between each.
For groups of 8 or families after some privacy then there is the new and beautifully done River Farmhouse next door, also owned by the main lodge. It's done up in a Mauritian style private house, lovely and light and tastefully designed with a huge amount of space outside overlooking the Zambezi river and inifinity pool. It's a fantastic value option and makes a wonderful retreat for the end of a safari.
