Our View

Set on a peaceful stretch of Diani Beach, Almanara is a real find. It’s not on the cutting edge of interior design, but it is luxurious all the same in an old school way. Plus, its location is undeniably luxurious, as are its well-appointed garden villas and brilliant boutique hotel. It’s one of the best in the region for no-fuss luxury and quality experience.

Almanara Luxury Villas - The Details

The six garden villas consist of three en suite double bedrooms, complete with a personal chef and butler. This would be a perfect getaway for a family or group of friends looking for a holiday of a lifetime.

As an owner-run property, it truly does feel like a luxurious home away from home on the Kenyan coast, rather than a glossy hotel experience.

Meanwhile, the boutique hotel - Casa Bella - has three ocean view rooms and two suites. The main area boats a lovely swimming pool, and the site also has a top notch restaurant - which, in our view, is a pretty essential component of a beach holiday.

Sails Restaurant, set just a stone’s throw away from the main area of the hotel, is one of the best-known eateries on the Kenyan coast. Succulent seafood options are abundant here, as the fine dining restaurant - with a casual Kenyan air - also boasts truly stunning views out onto the ocean.

However, you do have to pay to eat here as it’s not included in your stay. The hotel facilities also include a library, chilled out bar, gym, a glorious infinity pool and man al fresco dining options under the African stars.

From Almanara, guests can enjoy snorkelling, paddle boarding, kite and wind surfing, deep sea fishing, and even golf or horse riding. As you can tell, Almanara could be a destination in itself, but lots of people like to combine it with a spoiling East African safari in either Kenya or neighbouring Tanzania.

In short though, if relaxation in paradise and eating good food is your favourite holiday activity then you could probably never spend too much time at Almanara.
