Our View

Although the lodge is large, there is actually no comparable experience to this in Africa. The amazing rooms, facilties and service couples with the best views and largest concentrations of game in Botswana, we really do like this place. It’s perfect for a 2 or 3 night stop and excellent value for money before heading off into deeper and more remote camps for the rest of your trip.

Chobe Game Lodge - The Details

Chobe Game Lodge is located in the Chobe National Park, only half an hour’s drive from Kasane airport. Originally the first and only lodge in the national park, it is still without doubt the best located, and arguably the best views of any lodge in Botswana.

Albeit rather large, the rooms overlook the river, decks overlook the Chobe National Park and candles light up the many terraces and bar areas where you can find your own space. The accommodation is comprised of 42 twin/double rooms, four luxury private suites and one family unit. Rooms are all river-facing, with spacious decks and air-conditioning, as well as a complimentary mini-bar. There are seven inter-leading rooms, ideal for friends and families travelling together. There are no televisions in any of the rooms!

Because Chobe Game Lodge is situated within the Chobe National Park you set off just as the gates to the park open, which means you’re out and about before any other visitors. Drive set out along the river looking out for fresh tracks – there is always evidence of predator activity in the early mornings and the experienced guides are able to interpret the bush signs and track the animals that left them. Elephant encounters are more than common and huge herds of buffalo abound.

On return from the game drive and after a hearty breakfast, you can watch the animals begin to come down to the river, or spot wildlife across the floodplains on a mid-morning safari boat cruise. After lunch and a rest there is a choice of afternoon game drives or sunset safari cruises. Game viewing reaches its peak as the heat of the afternoon draws the elephant and other wildlife to the river. Don’t miss the safari cruise for the most spectacular sunsets on earth!

Outstanding, A truly beautiful property. The staff were amazing, they treated us as if we are family staying with them for a few days. Great views out from the Chobe deck of fame brilliant spot to watch the thousands of elephants coming down to drink!
