Upgrades in Uganda
Uganda is a beautiful country full of enchanting wildlife and incredible scenery. From primate trekking, bird watching and big game viewing, the possibilities are endless as to what can be enjoyed. With gorilla permits half the price of neighbouring Rwanda, it is also kinder on the wallet.
In recent years, Rwanda has been seen as the more luxurious gorilla option of the two countries and there is no hiding this fact, however Nkuringo’s upgrades have made it arguably Uganda’s most luxurious gorilla lodge without costing an arm and a leg.
The four new forest suites are not only hugely spacious with their own lounge area and vanity unit, but the finish combines a modern feel with contemporary Africa. All differing in style and design, each suite is unique and the result in each room is a luxurious home away from home feel. With a roaring fire when the evenings get chilly, each suite is a pleasure to spend time in.
The main dining area has also been refurbished which exudes warmth and cosiness without compromising on luxury. The hospitality and service are also some of the best you will recieve in Uganda and add to this the incredible views of the never ending Bwindi, you have the recipe for an unforgettable stay.
From Nkuringo, you are able to walk to the Nkuringo’s sector’s park headquarters which means the lodge is in the best possible position for gorilla trekking. Other activities possible here include walking the ivy trail, trekking the golden monkeys (and gorillas) of Mgahinga as well as canoeing across Lake Mutanda.
To explore Uganda properly, you will have to move from Nkuringo, but do not worry, lodges such as Nile Safari Lodge in Murchison Falls, Primate Lodge in Kibale and Ishasha Wilderness Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park provide the perfect base in which to experience the best Uganda can offer.
